Imitrex/Sumatriptan
I am now using the injectable form. I find the initial side effects are worse for 15-60 min following injection, then the head pain subsides, but all other migraine symptoms remain. It is more effective for the pain than a tablet or nasal spray, but mercy the "hit" of side effects (nausea, palpitations, "trippy" feelings, etc) is awful! Is anyone else using this medicine and form? Would you share your experiences? Thank you.

Nice to hear from you! I use sumatriptan nasal spray, which I find helpful. I haven't tried the injections.

I tried the spray. The increase in nausea with a lack of increase in efficacy for me is why my neurologist has me using the injectable now.
I also found using the nasal to be difficult during an attack.
Now if I can just remember to carry the kit with me I might have even more success. It would be swell if my health plan covered a second kit, so I could keep it in the car/in my travel bag.
It's easy to carry tablets in multiple places, but there is just the one injection kit.
Thanks for sharing your experienceI hear you on remembering to bring along meds. Sometimes I'm very good remembering, other times not so much!
What about Maxalt melt tabs? I haven't tried them, but have heard from others they work well. On the other hand, I'm not sure how that would impact nausea.
