34 year migraine sufferer.
I've had migraines since I was 12 years old. The pain has gotten worse as I have gotten older. My main trigger is weather changes. Living in Michigan, that happens a lot.
I have always joked that I have a barometer for a head. When the news says we are in for a big snow storm I can always tell if it will actually hit us or not. If I don't have a headache then I know it will amount to nothing. I haven't been wrong yet! I also get migraines from strong perfumes and things like glue and new carpet. I have them so often that it is hard to imagine life without a headache. My longest one lasted 8 days. Luckily, I can usually get the pain to a reasonable level with a couple doses of my migraine medication. I have tried Botox but, unfortunately, it did not work for me. May have even made them worse. The latest new trend in my migraines is bad neck pain. The pain will start in the back of my head and soon I have a lot of pain in my neck and it is often stiff. Then moves up to one side of my head. They have changed a lot throughout my life. Never for the better. I just keep hoping that someone will come up with a cure for them. Two of my daughters have them also. I hate to think of them going through their whole life with them.
