Young with Migraine
Last updated: November 2017
I never know anything about migraine until I suffered with them. Since I was little I suffered with headache. I was 12 years old when the headache turn into migraine. But sill I did not know what was wrong with me. I was young and confused. Going to have to go through all the test to see what was wrong with me. I didn't want that! When I was 13 yrs. old I was diagnose with Chronic Migraine. I took heavy medication for a long time. When I was 16 yr. old I stop taking the medication. I know your not supposed stop but I was tired of it. All I wanted was to by like the other girls. I was I afraid to go out because of my migraine. I didn't want anybody to see me go through all that pain, I went through. When I stopped I kind of knew how to control it. I was fine for one whole year. Then, boom! In and out from the hospital. Two or three times the month because the medication I was taking didn't help me anymore. For 5 months I was like that. The thing is I didn't want have to keep taking lots of medication in my body. I told myself that I had to see what I put in my body, my surrounding, and my thought of mind. I'm 18 yrs.old now, still in high school. And I'm going to graduate in 2018. I'm enrolling into college and planning my future. I learned that just because I have migraine it will not stop my life. I have a whole of opportunities in life that are waiting for my to grab. I started not knowing anything about migraines, but now I know lots of thing. This is my first site that I read and see that I'm not the only one going through that. It makes me happy because even though I knew that people are diagnosed with migraine I have never met one. Now I'm not alone!
In the past year, has insurance made it difficult to get your migraine treatment?
