Brain fog & anxiety after migraines

Hi, thanks for reading this. I'll try to make sense. Lord knows I need to get this out before my anxiety triggers another migraine.

I've just spent 6 days in a status migraine and I'm suffering from the worst brain fog & anxiety. I went to work today and felt like I had drank 3 glasses of wine. I'm worrying over everything from rent, bills, or stupid small stuff like getting the dogs groomed or just feeling anxious for no reason. It's so far from what my usual postdrome phase feels like. I'm just so anxious and feel watered down. Talking & socializing the last 2 days has left me feeling super angry and confused. I see my neurologist on 2/5 but was wondering if anyone else had these odd feelings after long migraines? I get worried about long term brain damage from migraines but I don't know if that fear has any real validity (i.e. if it's true or not). Anyway, thanks for reading. Hopefully it made some sort of sense.

  1. Hello absentminded, thank you for reaching out! I hear how much anxiety you have been experiencing recently. I'm glad you have an upcoming appointment to discuss your symptoms with your neurologist, but when you are suffering two weeks feels like a long time to wait! You are not alone experiencing anxiety with migraine. Anxiety is one of the most common comorbid conditions with migraine.
Brain fog and aphasia (forgetting things, misplacing words) are also struggles for many within the community. Several of our contributors have written about their experiences. I thought these articles might resonate with you:
