Diagnosis of Migraine & Headache Types

Hot head?

  • By Willow

Hi. With my migraines my head gets really hot. I use ice packs daily and have noticed a difference in how long they stay cool. Anyone else get a hot head? Anyone know an explanation?? Thanks

My ears turn red and get hot, its a weird feeling that sometimes happens without the migraine. Relpax does take care of it for me.

I literally get so feverish I’ll get out a thermometer and be buried under blankets with chills. I’ve never actually run a temperature, though. It’s crazy.

Did you consult a doctor? I used to suffer from severe headache and got a satisfactory treatment from Texan Urgent Care.

When I get photo phobic right before the migraine hits, my dark glasses fog up. It’s like my eyeballs are smoldering.

Hi to Jacqui and others. My hot heads started almost three years ago after I had fallen over on the concrete and hit my chin on the ground. Each year the heat gets less and less. These are the things I do to that helps me. I wear an open stitch crotchet cotton hat dipped in cold water most of the time(A lot less now). My pain specialist told me to walk 10 to 15 minutes a day. I found this was most helpful last summer. This summer I have been busier although I am walking now. Cold showers really helped in the beginning and I had to often had to dip my head in colder water in the bathroom sink basin.
The last thing I do was to try to even the heat through my body by wearing gloves and socks to bed and my wet crochet hat.
Hope this helps you and others.

A couple of years ago I started having hot flashes due to another chronic disease and these would make my head so hot I’d start getting a migraine. Now I don’t hardly get the hot flashes, but sometimes my head will get extremely hot like a hot flash from the neck up and I’ll get a migraine, blurry vision and dry eyes and mouth. I just assumed it was the heat causing the migraines. Now I don’t know what to think.
