Severe headaches - sinus biopsy? What?

Hey there, I'm looking for some help with this— I just received a text from my father that reads as such: “had to take mom to lahey (hospital) today for severe headaches…running tests all day and think its a sinus infection…operating now to get a biopsy..results in 2-5 days …i cannot talk until tomorrow but will text u after tonites surgery…not to worry….” The “not to worry” part is giving me some difficulty. My mom has had migraines all her life, as have I, as has my sister. (I’ve been a member of this community for a couple years now.) There just seem to be a lot of leaps in the chronology there. Severe headaches for a migraneur, whatever. Hospital severe? Happens. But this is weird. And sinus infection > biopsy > surgery seems to have escalated quickly. Here’s the rub: I can’t reach my dad now because he’s 3,000 miles away and there’s no cell service in that hospital and blah blah blah…yeah. Does anyone here have any experience with something like this? Ever heard of such a thing? Any thoughts would be appreciated so very much. Thanks. 🙂

  1. Hi DivinePK,

I'm sorry to hear your mom is having a rough time. I haven't heard of this but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Maybe your dad is leaving out some details? I know when people are stressed, they may leave out certain details.

I'll keep your mom in my thoughts. Will you let me know how she makes out?

    Nancy

    1. Thanks, Nancy. That’s certainly possible. Especially with someone like my dad who isn’t used to being attuned to every detail as we migraine people are. In any case, she came through surgery okay, and they’re keeping her in ICU until they get the results.

      1. Thank you for the update. Good to hear she is coming along.
