Suffering from migraine

  • By Lewisy

Hi everyone, I have been suffering from migraine and the main symptoms being severe headache, nausea, feeling dizzy or faint, vomiting etc. The pain is actually only on one side of the head. I recently read a blog(http://www.physiomobility.com/blog/does-massage-therapy-help-with-migraines-2/ ) telling that massage therapy can help treating migraines. I am not sure how they work as I have never taken this treatment. Has anyone else experienced this? Can anyone recommend medication that has proven to be successful? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Lewisy,

Thank you for your question. I’m sorry you are having a rough time, migraine can be frustrating and exhausting. Let me see what information I can give you to help.

Massage therapy may be helpful in addition to traditional medicine, however, massage won’t stop a migraine that has already started. For some people however, it may help reduce the frequency and severity of attacks. We have information on massage here; https://migraine.com/blog/can-massage-help-with-my-migraines/.

If we have four or more severe attacks a month, it’s time to discuss migraine prevention with our doctor. When you get a chance, take a look at this information on migraine prevention; https://migraine.com/blog/migraine-preventives-start/.

    Nancy
