I have a chance to get a doctor where I live the one I have is never available for me..Anyway feeling lonely this helps everyone stay migraine free at least for a while ! I actually had 4 days without one wow what a great feeling sending good days Susan

  1. Oh sweet Susan- I'm SO sorry to hear about your loss. I can imagine the stress and sadness have triggered some tough migraine attacks for you. Getting you seen by a migraine specialist would be a very important next step as it sounds like you need a proper evaluation and good support on this front (they can also sometimes give samples of meds to try). A lot of people with migraine are reporting good success with the CGRP drugs and also with triptans. The CGRPs offer both preventative and rescue options - the triptans are just rescue. Whether or not you need to be on a preventative would again be a matter that would need to be sorted with your doctor. Here are some resources for you - first, a couple of links that will hopefully help you find a migraine specialist in your area: https://americanmigrainefoundation.org/find-a-doctor/. And: https://headaches.org/resources/healthcare-provider-finder/. And then here's a link that walks you through the various treatment options available for migraine these days: https://migraine.com/treatment-options. As you mentioned depression - if this is something you are experiencing clinically, this would be another matter to address with a doctor. Do you have access to a therapist? Your GP could potentially help with all of these matters as well. Depression often accompanies migraine - so if this is the case for you, you are not alone. Do you feel like you have a good support system? We are here for you, Susan. Warmly- Holly -migraine.com team

    1. - Oh Susan I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your best friend. Dealing with the passing of a loved one can be an incredibly difficult and emotional experience. It's natural to feel a range of emotions, including sadness, grief, and loneliness during this time.

Grief can have physical and emotional effects on your well-being, and it's not uncommon for individuals to experience physical symptoms like migraines during times of intense stress and emotional turmoil.

Hoping you prioritize self-care and reach out for support, as Holly has suggested above. Grieving takes time, and everyone's journey is unique. Allow yourself to feel and process your emotions at your own pace, without judgment or pressure to "move on" quickly. Hoping these migraines ease and you find some peace.

Best of luck with finding a specialist and medical treatment plan for these terrible migraines. . We are rooting for your healing and well-being. Warmly ~ Rebecca (community moderator)

      1. Susan, I am so sorry for your loss. I understand how difficult processing loss can be. Having migraine attacks on top of that only makes things more challenging. There are no time limits when it comes to processing grief. Take it at your own pace and on your terms. Depression goes hand in hand for many of us living with migraine disease. One of my daughters, that suffers from migraines and depression, has been using sam-E 400mg every other day with very positive results. It is something to talk with your doctor about adding to any other medications you may be taking to ensure it will not have any contraindications. It affects serotonin production, and I've heard of people taking it to help manage their migraines. I hope your attacks quiet down as you heal from your loss, Susan. As always, you know we are here to support you. Sending you love, ((HUGS)), and prayers, Cheryl migraine.com team
