Do any of the pressure relief products work?

Morning for those of you in the UK. Just joined as my migraines are getting worse with menopause. Taking HRT and working on my health. I swim a lot. Has anyone got any tips? Does acupuncture work for you?

  1. Hi - Thanks so much for posting your question. A few of our community members have reported that they find acupressure helpful. Here's a link to their comments: https://migraine.com/stories/acupressure-controlling-pain and https://migraine.com/forums/acupressure-2. Did you have a specific device or product you were thinking about trying?

I can also personally share my own experience with acupuncture. I do find it helpful, and attend about once a week. For me it helps reduce shoulder and neck tension, which are major triggers for me and my migraines. When I start to get stuck in a migraine cycle, it can feel like the muscles in my shoulder are stiff as rocks. No matter how much I stretch or move them, they just constantly ache. Acupuncture helps bring relief and allows the trigger points to relax. I also find that it encourages me to take time to self-reflect and carve out a space just for me. I try to block out all the to-do lists, things I need to do, and just focus on being in the moment. I was also lucky that my first acupuncture provider and I work well together. If you do end up giving it a try, and you don't like it, consider if there are different providers in your area. A huge part of the process is being matched with someone who truly gets you, and you feel like you can trust.

If you have any more additional questions, I'd be more than happy to share my own experience or point you in the direction of someone else who might know.

    Best,
    Cody
