Has anyone tried CBD oil and found success

At this point I am willing to try anything.
It’s been years of suffering and never in my wildest dreams I imagined my life would turn into this one day!

So turning in to this community to find out -

1. if anyone has had success with CBD oil.

2. What are the potential side effects?

3. Can this be taken long term?

4. Does one gets dependent on it?

5. And lastly, where to get it from?

I’ve searched the internet and couldn’t find the right resources.
Also, it’s banned in the country I live in. But at this point, I’m willing to move to another country if this can give me my life back and a future for me & my husband 🙁

  1. Hi! Thank you for starting this forum, I hope others are able to chime in with their experiences using CBD oil. I did want to share an article we have about migraine and cannabinoids, if you're interested in reading it: https://migraine.com/living-migraine/cannabinoids. That said, we are not able to advise on where to find CBD oil since it is banned in your country. Per our community rules, activity on site cannot encourage any illegal activity. Posts that discuss illegal activity but do not encourage it may be allowed if they pertain to the conversation at hand as well as to migraine. You can read our full community rules here: https://migraine.com/community-rules.

May I ask if you've spoken with your doctor about complimentary therapies to treat your migraine, or if there's anything you've tried so far? Please keep me posted on how you're doing - I hope you're able to find relief soon! All the best, Alexa (Migraine.com moderator)

    1. Thank you for responding. Though I am not sure what gave you the idea that I am this post was about to lead to an illegal activity!

I shared that as an info and also very clearly mentioned that I am considering to move to another country if I can find some information on this subject and of course to a place where it’s legal to use it.

So let’s not jump to conclusions without reading through and interpreting someone’s words.

I have always turned to this community when in distress which is the case mostly for most us dealing with daily chronic migraines and associated conditions. But I am utterly disappointed to see your response to my innocent questions.

        1. I totally understand your intent with starting the forum and absolutely do not think you were seeking any advice that would lead to illegal activity - I'm so sorry that my initial comment came across that way! I ultimately wanted to share that community rule as a reminder to the community and anyone new who may be coming to this forum, as people might share advice that may not be legal in your area without knowing. Just want to make sure we're protecting everyone in the community and avoiding deleting any comments that may violate rules! I sincerely hope you're able to hear from others about their experiences and think this is a really interesting topic to discuss in the community. I apologize for disappointing you - we certainly want to make this a safe space for you to ask questions and seek advice. All the best, Alexa (Migraine.com moderator)

      2. I've been taking CBD gummies which are legal in the UK (I buy them at the supermarket or a health food shop) and I think they may help with the intensity of my migraines. I suffer from chronic migraines with long periods of respite, mostly due to changing hormones.
I take propanalol daily, and paracetamol and metroclopramide for sickness. However the anti-sickness tablet gives me negative side effects such as depression, restlessness and extreme fatigue. Since taking the CBD I have found the nausea element of my migraine much decreased to the point where I no longer take my anti-sickness pill and am ok with just some paracetamol.
I am still getting regular migraine with aura but the pain is much more manageable and am usually reasonably 'normal' within two hours.
I haven't done any controlled scientific tests of course, it could be a coincidence, but if anyone is able to get CBD easily and legally, it might be worth a try as it may have helped some elements of the migraine for me.

        1. Thanks for sharing your experience. It's always helpful to learn what works for each of our fellow members here. I know that the result from treatments like CBD are very individualized, but it's still nice knowing what people are getting results from and what's not working for them.

        2. thanks for sharing the specific brands that you found success with. It can help reduce the trial and error when trying new products. It can be expensive when you're just buying something without a recommendation.
