Intermittent Leg Pain & Migraines

It seems that every 4 years or so my migraines seem to take on new forms and I've recently realized that I'm going through another one of these phases. Most recently I've had symptoms that even my neurologist didn't think we're migraines except that he's eliminated other possible causes (amarosis fugax, ptosis, extreme vertigo, slurred speech, loss of consciousness etc.)

For the last 6 months I've been getting these crippling intermittent leg pains the my primary dr can't explain and they aren't responding to treatment. I've started to notice that the pain seems to be the worst right before and a few days after my more severe migraine attacks and I'm starting to wonder if there might be a connection between the two.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

  1. Sparrow,

While I haven't noticed any significant leg pain with my migraine attacks, you are not alone. This article might be a good starting point for you as you try to figure out how to treat this terrible side effect: https://migraine.com/blog/back-and-leg-pain/

    2. Janet,

I'm doing really well. I think my preventative is finally working, this last month I only had 15 , compared to 24 in July and daily attacks the months prior & my auras aren't nearly as severe or frequent. Still a lot but it's makes a huge difference having days where you genuinely enjoy every moment and aren't just pushing through. I actually feel human again. 😀 The thing with my leg is another story but eventually they'll get to the bottom of it.

      1. Good to hear Sparrow! Hope you keep starting to feel better!
