Living with Migraines

I am 22 years old; I suffer from migraines every day and have experienced migraines since I was 10 years old. Currently I work full time and I am enrolled in college full time as well. A few of my classes have very strict rules about missing a class and this worries me. My question is, is it possible for me to get a note from my neurologist saying that I am not always able to make classes because of my migraines or the medicine I have to take if I have a migraine that day??? If I miss more than 2 meetings in some of my classes I will fail out of that class. Does anyone have any answers or suggestions? Thanks (:

  1. Kelly,
I can imagine that the stress of failing a class because of a Migraine is a big burden.
I've listed a few different articles about how to work with your school to make special accommodations for you. Some of it talks specifically about high school, but it should translate at the college level.

Don't be afraid to talk to the admissions dept or health dept at your college and discuss this problem, with proper documentation, they should be able to make arrangements for you.
