Migraine Auras at Public/Work Places

I got my first ever visual aura about a month back. It was very scary and I thought I was getting a stroke! I would get auditory auras for most of my life and continue to still - that ringing in the ear, but this was an entirely new experience.

I am 30, female, and have been having migraines since I was 13 and was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a few years back. As a person with chronic pain, I have to admit that it's tough and most times really lonely.

So I'm happy to have discovered this forum. 😀

Since the first Aura, I have gotten 3 more migraine attacks with strong visual auras. They have been at home - which is a safe environment.

My question to this forum is that how does one deal with Visual Auras in workplaces or in public space or what if you're driving then? I'm a little scared of how I might feel or behave if this was to happen in such situations.

  1. Hi
Thank you for reaching out to our community and welcome to Migraine.com. We have lots of excellent information here.
That sounds scary! When we experience new and/or different symptoms or patterns with our attacks, it's always a good idea to let the doctor so they can make sure everything checks out OK!
I'm sure others will be along shortly to share their experiences with you. I don't have visual aura. I can provide you with this link that has our information on visual aura; https://migraine.com/search?s=visual%20aura
