Motor Skills and Migraines
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone else had lost some of their fine motor skills due to migraine. For example, I have a really hard time typing now, and do things like trip and fall frequently, and drop stuff for no apparent reason. With all the other crap that I migraine brings, I don't really want any additional fun. Just wondering if could be something else. Have an appointment with my neuro on 4/3, and was wondering if I should bring it up.

Hi! I have had this experience and if I may be candid it freaks me the hell out. I have a hard time reading and putting sentences together, especially between aura and migraine. The words get jumbled. I have never had this problem before. I've also noticed the randomly dropping things. I have an appt next week, I'll write my results here and check back to see yours!
This is definitely something you want to talk to your doctor about, but it is not an unusual migraine symptom. It's one big reason people recommend not driving during a migraine.

Went to the Dr today and based on my symptoms and the good old walk with your feet one in front of the other test, I am having blood work? (Also cardiac concerns?) And further investigation done. A bunch of new meds and f/u in 3 months.I have only been diagnosed with Migraine and have these symptoms, I have for years put it down to being clumsy or awkward. But recently it got a lot worse I ended up in hospital. Speech, memory and concentration, vagueness, sickness. Between going to different departments and having lots of tests I eventually saw a neurologist who diagnosed me with Migraine. Such a relief as I now know I was not going mad. I know I have a long way to go (I had an attack when I was in town yesterday)and I have to try and work out the triggers which will be interesting. I have a question is migraine hereditary? Reading others experiences is very helpful.
