MS/Migraines

Gm. I know migraines can be connected to MS…I had tingling in lips tongue throat cheeks for a week. I went to my neuro and she said she thinks it is a slipped disc. I’m gonna have a brain MRA and cervical spine MRI. However, over the weekend when I lean on my arms they easily go numb/tingle (not on their own though). More my left than right but my right, too. Then feeling comes back. I was laying down last night and my left leg was going numb as well as under my butt and foot. I fell asleep and it was so numb that it actually woke me out of my sleep 6 hours later. Can a disc affect legs and arms and face? It doesn’t seem like it can. I’m worried 😮‍💨. Sorry and ty for listening. I’m worrying about MS but I’m trying to convince myself it can be a disc. My neuro put me on tizanidine for 5 days and aleve. Aleve during day. It has helped ease the mouth tingling. Idk how a disc can affect all these limbs and mouth? The leg is horrible. But idt MS causes tingling in all these areas so quickly? I have scans Saturday

  1. So sorry about this scare! It sounds like you are responding to these symptoms in the best way possible by pursuing the appropriate medical evaluation and treatment. I don't have any information about how or whether discs can cause the kinds of tingling or numbness you are experiencing. Again, so glad you are getting the evaluation that will give the answers you are seeking. It's hard not to worry about the worst possible scenario. My grandmother always advised me not to cross that bridge until I needed to. I know that's easier said than done. We are here for you and sending you love and care. Warmly- Holly -migraine.com team.

    2. I don't know anything about what you are going through, but I agree the right thing to do is see a medical professional. These symptoms sound miserable. I hope you can get some relief soon.

      1. Tysm! Thankfully the scans look normal. The numbness comes and goes. I had 3 nights of night sweats. I have allergy testing tomorrow and a nerve test next week for upper and lower extremities.
