Non Triptan Abortives

Hello all!
I'm just looking for any advice y'all have for abortive medications that are not triptans. I am going to see a new Neuro next week (an actual headache specialist, I'm pretty excited), and would like to have some information on what direction I would like to go with my abortive meds before I go in there. I currently take 200 mg topomax which has reduced the frequency greatly. However, I have tried almost every triptan on the market. Imitrex, Maxalt, Relpax, Zomig, and Amerge. Most of them don't work at all, give me unbearable side effects, or don't work and give side effects. The Amerge is what I ended up going back to and it just works ok, but it takes a couple hours to kick in and most of the time the migraine is back within 6 hours so I have to take another pill. My main problem is that I don't have insurance, so some of the "hotter" treatment options are way out of my budget, like the nasal sprays and patches
I have done some research into Midrin, so if anyone has experience with that it would be appriciated. But really, any advice or experience would be appriciated.
