Shortness of breath

I have finally connected a symptom I have had for awhile before a migraine. I get a "energy" feeling in my stomach and a feeling of not being able to catch my breath prior to the migraine hitting me (It can last 8-24 hours prior) Once the pain hits, the shortness of breath goes away completely like magic. I did a search and found one past from a few years ago on this. To be clear, it comes out of the blue prior to any migraine symtpoms and I do not have anxiety issues, except as a migraine symptom at times. The stomach part almost always happens before and sometimes during a migraine- the best way I can describe it is that there is a "solid energy" in my stomach- the catching breath symptom does not happen every time- other times I get freezing cold, a feeling of dread, sleepy/ exhausted the list goes on - would love to know if anyone else has experienced this - I am grateful to have connected it because with covid it has scared me each time the shortness of breath comes on, thanks!

  1. Uff, I hear how disconcerting this symptom feels for you, jennyq. Feeling short of breath is scary! If you haven't as yet, I would encourage you to discuss this symptom to your doctor, just to be sure it is migraine-related. Migraine can have so many strange symptoms!
