Has Anyone Experienced Weird Low Thumping in One Ear?

I am 20+ years into chronic migraines, and this is a new symptom for me. It’s the weekend, so trying to decide if I need to go to the ER, or wait and speak with my neurologist on Monday? I have had tinnitus before, but this is different. Sounds like someone is twisting a balloon, and there is also some pain/numbness down my neck. Not severe, so wondering if this is just another “symptom” and possibly nothing to worry about?

  1. Whether or not it is migraine, Always mention any new or worsening symptoms to your doctor. There may be an advice nurse connected to your doctors office that you can consult after hours. If your pain persists or worsens do seek medical attention. Take care.

    1. Hi morganbutterfly,

Have you been able to reach out to your doctor? As glassmind said, it's always a good idea to let the doctor know when we have new and/or different symptoms so he/she can make sure everything checks out OK.

Will you let me know how you are doing?
      Nancy

      1. Hi Nancy,

Thank you so much for your response! I got ahold of my neurologist about an hour after I posted my question and she was helpful. And I just had an appointment with her today. I also have an upcoming appointment with my PCP, and will have her check and make sure it’s not an infection of some kind. I just got nervous, because I had 3 nose bleeds a couple days before, and then the ear thing, which were all new for me, and I panicked a bit. Again, thank you so much for your response and concern! This website/community has been incredibly helpful to me!

        1. Glassmind, thank you!!
I meant to respond sooner, but completely forgot! I did what you said, and I got the on-call doctor who was there over the weekend, who then put me in contact with my neurologist. Really appreciated your help! Thanks again!
