Anytime we have new and/or different symptoms its a good idea to let the doctor know so he can rule out other condition. Now, having said that, I've experienced similar symptoms, usually on my right side, and turned out to be part of my migraine attack. Tingling, numbness, pins and needle feelings may all be part of sensory aura as explained in this article;
