Migraine pain day four, any advice or tips?

I am on day 4 of constant right sided sharp throbbing pain... pain killers are not helping much. I have suffered over half my life with migraines and i am very familiar with my own particular brand of pain. but this pain is new to me, it is very sharp and throbbing especially with movement, getting up from a seated position, bending over etc. and it is showing no signs of letting up, usually my migraines can last up to two days.. i am on day 4 of this, starting to get worried here.... any tips, advice or similar experiences greatly appreciated.

  1. Hi , Thank you for reaching out. I am so sorry to hear how much pain you are suffering. Anytime you are experiencing new or worsening symptoms it is important to see/discuss with your doctor to rule out anything more serious. Additionally, any migraine attack that lasts longer than 72 hours should be evaluated by a doctor. You can read more about what a migraine emergency is in this article here. In the meantime, this article may help as it discusses how to break a migraine that won't stop. - https://migraine.com/living-migraine/how-do-you-break-wont-stop/

Will you do us a favor & keep us posted on how you are doing?

    1. Totally with Joanna- please let us know how you're doing. If this kind of pain is especially intense, unusually stubborn or different than what you're used to, it's best to reach out to your doctor.

      Thinking of you!

      1. New, worsening, or prolonged pain = see a doctor!

We get to "used" to our migraines, but must continue to advocate for ourselves and insist on full relief.
