Extreme back pain

I have been recently diagnosed with post traumatic arthritis. I've noticed that the pain in my right hip and my right ankle is increasing day by day. I have debilitating pain which hinders me from going to work and laying comfortably. My hip surgeon did a series of X-rays and he suggested to do massage therapy from Physiomed in Toronto( http://www.physiomed.ca/treatments/massage-therapy-rmt/ ). Does anyone here have experience doing this treatment for their back pain? I find that the symptoms are worse when I'm under stress or doing a lot of computer work. I just want to know what has worked for people and has helped the most. Please share.

  1. Hi Diana45,

Thank you for your post. Sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. I hope the treatment your doctor prescribed helps. While I feel that community members will be able to provide you with more personal experiences related to massage therapy, I thought you would find the following articles helpful -
https://migraine.com/complimentary-and-alternative-therapies/massage/, https://migraine.com/blog/can-massage-help-with-my-migraines/, https://migraine.com/blog/migraineurs-guide-to-cam-energy-and-touch-therapies/, https://migraine.com/complimentary-and-alternative-therapies/. They discuss the relationship between massage therapy and chronic migraine, which I know you specifically mentioned back pain, however perhaps you can find some good nuggets of information within the articles. Again, thank you for your post. Please continue to reach out when needed. We love hearing from you. Wishing you all the best.

    Warmly,

    Meaghan (Migraine.com Team)
