Jelly legs, vertigo and sudden fatigue before or after??

I've had chronic daily migraines for the past 10 years - progressively worse in severity.
The last few months I've started having some unusual symptoms (for me).
Vertigo is a normal part of my migraines - during the headache itself - but lately I've noticed it before or after a migraine, even the more mild ones and the vertigo makes me feel like I'm seasick or drunk.
In addition to that I'll suddenly feel like my legs have turned to jelly or rubber about 1 hr-30 mins before an attack (after years of zero warning before it hit) or for the 1-3 hours after a bad migraine. It feels like I'm trying to walk through quicksand or like I'm suddenly so tired my legs are weak & heavy.
3 years ago I had a grand mal seizure and when I was talking to a cousin about the seizure she described her seizures warning sign as feeling like her legs are not her own or like she is stepping through something thick/goopy before the full seizure hits and I'm starting to worry that that is what I'm experiencing.

I won't be seeing my neurologist for another 2 months but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced changes to their migraines leading to either of these sensations... I'm still on a very low dose of Keppra because of the seizure I had in the past, and I'm wondering if the weak anti-seizure meds are why I have the weird sensations but dont go into a full seizure??

Are they just new and awful feeling migraine symptoms?

Do I need to worry they're stroke symptoms because of all the years of using triptans?

  1. Hi Msmmain,

Thank you for sharing your story with us. I am however, sorry you are having difficulties right now. I understand how difficult new symptoms can be.

It's entirely possible your medications may need to be adjusted. As much as I would like to be able to tell you exactly what is going on, I'm afraid only your doctor can do that.

When we have new and/or different symptoms we encourage people to get in contact with their doctor. This way he can rule out anything more serious.

Keep me posted on how you are feeling,

    Nancy
