Diagnosis of Migraine & Headache Types

Migraine from chemo

  • By 2bluwings

    Hi,
My sister-in-law is being treated with chemo for endometrial cancer. She’d not been having many side effects. She and her husband made a 10 hour trip to visit their daughter and family. They were supposed to drive home to make her Friday treatment. She’s been to the ER several times for severe headaches/migraines that can’t be knocked back even with strong pain killers.
I thought I’d ask here in case anyone knows anything about this. The doctors don’t think it’s connected to the chemo but don’t know what the cause is.
    Thanks for listening.

Thank you for reaching out, 2bluwings. I hear how much your sister-in-law is enduring with fighting cancer and experiencing migraine symptoms. That is a lot to have going on in the body all at once! There are a few others in the community who have asked similar questions or shared similar experiences of having migraine symptoms increase alongside chemo. We cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for safety reasons!) but it is certainly possible that for some people chemo could be influencing migraine symptoms. I want to share some other member’s discussions with you that might resonate and be of value.

Thank you so much for the information. She did have a hysterectomy for endometrial cancer so I’m wondering if the hormone issue mentioned in the 2nd link might apply.
    Thanks. Linda…
