New Symptoms

  • By emilyollie

Hello, this is my first post on here. I’m 22 and I have had migraines since I was 13/14. For most of my migraine-affected life i’ve been able to deal with the pain. Mostly i have always been sensitive to light and highly irritable during an episode. For a short period of time in high school, Excedrin used to help but it got to the point where I was taking 10-12 pills a day with little to no affect. Sleep was more of a distraction than a cure. I’ve dealt with it in that way for the past several years. For the past six months i’ve felt more severe migraine attacks, often lasting weeks. I’m in a constant state of pain, i experience tingling and tenderness in my body even when i’m not having a migraine. Most of time last month i saw through strobe light vision and felt very dizzy and lightheaded at all time. i also grew extremely sensitive to sounds when trying to sleep. i have been experiencing hypnotic jerks at night much more often, i have experienced several instances quite often in the past few weeks of an intense, sharp, prickling pain in my left foot for several minutes at a time. i constantly have neck, shoulder, and lower back pain and my left eyebrow is painful to touch. the other day i was on the toilet (tmi, sorry) and all of a sudden i got an extremely intense and paralyzing pain in the left side of my face. it only lasted for a few seconds but the left side of my jaw has felt sore ever since. I feel like i’m focused way too much on every little ache and pain because most of these symptoms are quite new and frightening. i admit i spend a lot of time searching for answers online

    Hi emilyollie,

Thank you for sharing your journey with us and welcome to the Migraine.com discussion fourm!

When we have new and/or different symptoms it’s important to discuss them with the doctor so he can rule out anything more serious. If you haven’t contacted your doctor yet, please do so at your earliest convenience.

Please let me know how you make out,
    Nancy
