What a nice concept… I’m going to look for one in the L.A. area and cross my fingers. I’m just getting started with accepting that I’m not alone, that there is help, and that I have a ‘health issue’ that is not just all in my head, so to speak!

    Have a great day & thanks !

Its been a journey to get to this point. But my unofficial mantra is the destination takes care of itself when you focus on the journey. So, this is the least I can do. I hope you’re successful.

Anyone know a support group in the northern KY/Cincinnati area? I’ve tried to look online, but I’ve had a migraine for a month and it is confusing. Thanks!

    kyange,

I don’t live in the area, but looked online and couldn’t find one. Some medical centers have them, but don’t list them online. If you have a headache specialist, try calling their office and see if they know of any in the area. If not, you can call these Cincinnati-based headache specialist’s offices to ask if they have or know of a support group in the area.

I live in Red Oak, TX, about 45 min. from Arlington. and plan to try and start a group in my area this fall. It will be sponsored by Baylor Hospital eventually, but that will have to wait until next year – the hospital is in the process of moving to a new location. Once there, there will be space available for us to meet. There is a headache education group, a bit different than a support group through Baylor Neuroscience Center – Headache Center and Movement Disorder Center. They are located of I-75 and Walnut Hill. I will be posting when I get something together down this way.

Hi, lmls. A good start for you would be to look at the following article about finding a headache/migraine specialist (if you want to go that route): https://migraine.com/blog/making-decision-see-headache-specialist/

You can certainly talk with other forum members about possible doctors in the New Jersey area.

As far as support groups go, I’d first recommend checking out the National Headache Foundation’s website to see if they might have any listings for in-person groups near you: http://www.headaches.org

And of course your fellow migraineurs and caregivers here in the Migraine.com forums are a great support network.

Good luck–let us know if you find a good group in your area and what it’s like.

      Sincerely,
      Janet Geddis

Room C-103 is in the C hallway which runs east-west and is about halfway between the two main entries on the North side Gym/Pool entry, and the South side Lincoln Rd entry. I would suggest parking in the north entry lot where the football stadium is.

Hi… there are/were several groups on facebook. Do a search for migraine or headaches. Some are private, simply ask to join, others are public. The Look Ahead group which I facilitated and is referenced in this thread is no longer meeting. That said, there are groups out there. Hope this helps. Good luck.
