Has anyone heard of this or experienced it? I've had migraine without aura since my teens (late 30's now), and chronic headache. 12 days ago I had a sudden feeling like someone was squeezing my brain and I would get an adrenaline rush and feel cold all over. It happened a few times and I thought I was having a stroke. Went to the ER and they didn't do any imaging, but said it was migraine aura without pain. This came on suddenly and I have never had aura before. (My son and sister do get aura.) It came back less severely the next day and ibuprofen and Benadryl stopped it. A few days later it came back again, and I called and they had me take repeated doses of Maxalt and that stopped it. Then a few days later, again, and the Maxalt stopped it. Today it happened again and I'm not sure if I didn't hit it hard enough with the Maxalt doses, but it started to get worse later in the day. An MD friend said I could add Aleve and a bunch of caffeine. After about an hour it finally has mostly subsided. I plan to ask about seeing a neurologist again (it's been a few years), but has anyone experienced something like this? I have been just exhausted most days since this started and I can't find any info on this migraine symptom, although the docs told me they had seen it. Thanks!
