Where to Find Accurate Information About Migraine Treatments & Medications

When your doctor recommends a new (or new to you) medication or treatment for your migraines, it can be overwhelming. Perhaps you've never heard of the medication or what you've heard about it has scared you. Obviously your doctor and his/her staff are a great source of information. But if you get home and want to know more, where in the world can you turn considering that Googling a migraine medication or treatment brings up thousands of results: Some good sources of information, some bad. Migraine.com itself is a great place to look up the medication or treatment. I'll share some additional resources I recommend, too.

Finally, if you're interested in research regarding migraine treatments, the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) is a good source of accurate information. The NINDS is part of the NIH and works to reduce the burden of neurological diseases through research, education and dissemination of research findings.
