Aimovig: 100% effective, 100% too expensive?

I have had 3 scheming strokes in 4 years. The only medication that worked completely was Aimovig 70mg. Auto-inject every 28 days. The only problem is it was expensive, $178 for a single and over $500 for a 3 pack. It does work 100%.

I'm curious if anyone else out there has experienced this exact situation with Aimovig or other highly effective but expensive treatments. How did you navigate the costs? Did you find any assistance programs, or have you had success with insurance appeals?
