Hi I am a 37 year old female with no prior history of headache or migraine. In October 2025 I got an episode of sudden severe left-sided head pain (8/10, aching) that began after returning home from grocery shopping in the early evening, followed by left-sided numbness and tingling starting in the head/face and spreading down the left leg; I went to the hospital and was told it might be Bell's palsy had a normal brain and neck CT, and symptoms lasted a few days. Since then I have had constant left-sided head pressure daily, typically around 3/10 pain, with worsening when sitting, sleeping, and lying down; during worsening I have increased head pain and a sensation of left-sided numbness/weakness/soreness "like it falls asleep." Worsening pressure can be triggered by even light pressure on the top of my head and being up and walking tends to help notice symptoms less; bending over does not worsen the head pressure but can cause neck pain. No flashing lights, unusual smells, visual changes, black spots, or blurring. I get episodic flares with cognitive symptoms including brain fog and poor thinking skills, with lots of other symptoms left-sided head fog all day, hot flashes and left-sided body pain with numbness, tingling, weakness, shaking, intermittent chest pain, no appetite, and diarrhea at times, worse when lying down, reduced appetite, and trouble falling asleep. I have several ED visits for episodes; medications tried include ibuprofen, Tylenol, Toradol, and Ubrelvy, and steroids have helped in the past; but for a recent episode I took prednisone 50 mg daily for 5 days with partial improvement but took nearly 2 weeks to return back to almost normal. Sleep is difficult because symptoms feel worse when trying to sleep; I use melatonin and magnesium to help initiate sleep, and I toss and turn awake due to the left-sided numb sensation with temporary relief after changing positions; tired and always fatigued. I have have had bookwork, MRI,MRA,MRV, and NCS/EMG all have come back normal. I recently returned from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN and they suggested I see a Headache Clinic for what they think is just chronic daily headaches and gave me gabapentin. I have seen a couple different Neurologist that have been less than helpful basically telling me to do Physical Therapy to help with symptoms. Does anyone else have a similar experience? I really wish I had more answer's and help but now I am waiting another 4 to 6 months for a different Neurologist.
Thank you
