Migraine prevention

Hi,
I have just been prescribed propranolol to prevent my migraines has anyone else found this to be useful? At the moment I take piztofen daily and rizatriptan on the onset of one... Mine usually start with the visual problems then the headache starts...

  1. Hi there! We have had many conversations here in the community about using beta blockers like propanolol. Like most migraine treatments, the results can vary a great deal from person to person. Some people do great with it, others don't see any changes, and others have trouble with side effects. So it is hard for us to say for sure how it will affect you. Did you start taking it yet? I'll be curious to hear how you are feeling about it, and your experience can be helpful to others who are reading along.

Here is a general article that explains more about how beta blockers work: https://migraine.com/migraine-treatment/beta-blockers-for-migraine-headaches

Hoping the best for you! Take good care of yourself. -Melissa, team member

    1. Hi - I wanted to follow-up to see if you were able to start with your propranolol prescription? How's it been going for you?
