Side effects: Why I had to stop CGRP meds

After 45 years of chronic migraine and that many years of trial and misses with migraine meds that didnt work, I remained hopeful with the new CGRP blockers. My Neurologist found the right new one for me that was working, Quilipta. I was in disbelief! For the first time ever, I went from 15-20 days of m's per month to around 4-5!! Then came the side effects. Boy did they ever! My hair began falling out like crazy and my joints started aching. I'm no spring chicken but I know this isn't normal. I still thought baldness and achy joints were better than my excruciating migraine pain (sad but true). So I kept on taking Quilpta until month 7, when it no longer was working as well as it did when I first began taking it. That's when I lost hope in the CGRP's.
