The Magician

My well-wishers usually say that I think about my symptoms and therefore I have them.

This makes me what... a magician!

Is migraine all in my head?

I have the superpower to trick myself into sickness all my life. Even when I was a child? I must have been a talented child to do this at the age of 4 by making my eyes go dry all the time by thinking about having dry eyes even when I didn’t know such a thing existed.

Correct?

My philosophical well-wishers point out the utmost truth in life: "There is no such thing called sickness. It’s in your head. So, stop thinking about I have this and I can’t do this because of this. Do it. Do as I say. Otherwise..."

Having power over migraine

Is it possible for a person to be so powerful to think and have it in his hands? What kind of power will that be? Am I thinking about my symptoms when I am having a blast at an adventure park or an amusement park? Am I thinking about the 2 dozen symptoms when I am highly focused on driving a car? Am I making myself sick just by thinking about it?

I don’t understand what my well-wishers mean. If they fall sick or have a chronic illness, does it mean that it’s in their head? Why do I hear people whining about having such and such illnesses in their family and friends? Why is the pharmaceutical industry booming? Why are the hospitals having a blast with unbelievable number of patients making them too much money? Why do families all around wish to have a doctor in the house? Why are drugs sold like crazy, both under the counter and over the counter?

My migraine is out of my control

Are so many people on earth magicians? Do they really think about illness and become ill? Are symptoms invented in the mind and spread through word of mouth making many have the same symptoms? I remember a friend telling me that I read about such things and therefore I believe I have them as well.

I seriously find it confusing. Can any soul out there help me understand the words of my well-wishers?
