Aura migraine

Hello, I’ve been suffering with aura migraines for years but they’ve increased in the last few weeks to one of two a week. This morning I actually had two in a row which has never happened before.
Can anyone offer any reassurance? I’m getting anxious now that it’s a symptom of something else. Thank you

  1. Hi - I'm so sorry to hear that you've been experiencing a sudden increase in your migraines. As a person who also has migraines, my heart feels for you! A sudden increase in symptoms can be scary.

Have you had any sudden changes in your routines or stress? I wonder if it's related to something that changed a few weeks ago. This could be diet, sleep, weather, or something else.

You could also consider reaching out to your neurologist if you have one. They might be able to provide some reassurance based on your medical history, or offer medical advice about how you can navigate this tough period of increased migraines.

Our community is here for you, and I'm certain others have been in a similar situation before! - Cody (team Member)

    1. Thank you Cody. I’ve been trying to pinpoint anything that could be causing the increase, possibly stress & anxiety.
I’m cutting out chocolate & cheese for now to see if it helps.
It’s just quite scary to experience more aura migraines & also reassuring to read from others who have had this.

      1. What does your treatment routine look like, Anne? Are you taking anything? I'm curious if your migraines are still responding to your usual treatments or if you're finding the attacks harder to treat. I'm with Cody, this is definitely worth reaching out to your doctor about ... both for the sake of keeping them in the loop (this is an important change to note in your records in case it happens again), and to see if they have any suggestions. They may tell you to take your meds differently for a while or offer something new.

Keep us posted and hang in there! Migraines can commonly change throughout our lives, even when we don't do anything different, so be gentle with yourself. -Melissa, team member
