In 1989, I was stopped on a rural highway waiting to make a left turn when a driver behind me plowed into my car at 55mph. My head hit the roof of the car, leaving a head-sized dent. My car was pushed 100 yards down the road. It was two hours before a Hwy Patrol came to assist. At the emergency room, I was told I didn't have a concussion because I didn't lose consciousness. I was given an RX for Fioricet and sent home. I experienced unremitting, debilitating headaches for more than two weeks. After seeing my primary care physician for help with my chronic headache for 9 months, I saw a neurologist who diagnosed me with migraine.
