frequent auras that do not become migraines

I am a 75 yr old lifelong migraineur. recently I had open heart surgery in 2023. I woke from the surgery with a huge aura and continued to have many as in 6 a day in hospital. After I had them every day 2 to 3 times. No rhyme nor season. Monthly Emgality shots have helped. Every other day now. Anyone else have a similar experience after surgery??

  1. Thank you for joining in . I'm sorry you had such a big surgery - what a recovery that must be. I don't personally know much about this but Amanda wrote an article about anasthesia and migraine (which of course we know doesn't necessarily include pain) https://migraine.com/living-migraine/anesthesia-triggered-attack

I'm guessing that since you had to take such powerful neurologically impactful medications this might have had some effect. Has it eased? What has your neuro said about them?

Wishing you a very speedy recovery! Tracy (Team Member)
