Migraine prevention

Has anyone tried riboflavin, CoQ10 and magnesium as a preventative? I am sceptical but a pediatrician friend of mine is convinced it works, though it may take 3 months before you notice improvement. I recently quit using Fioricet as it stopped being effective. And was giving me rebound headaches.

  1. Didn't help...still take magnesium tho

    1. do you find the magnesium helps with migraine? Or do you take it for other reasons? -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

  2. That's what I figured. To good to be true.

    1. I wouldn't say that it doesn't work ... supplements can be helpful as a part of someone's toolkit, and some here have shared that supplements are useful for them. But each person is different. Some see good results and others don't. I also imagine that the overall frequency and severity of your migraines would be a factor, too. Your mileage will vary. -Melissa, team member

  3. I've certainly read that magnesium is good for migraine prevention, but I'm talking "newspaper articles" - not medical research papers...

    1. Here are a few research papers that I found, if you want to check them out. The buttons to read the full text are on the right side of the page:

These are pretty recent, but there are other, older ones as well. Hope that helps! -Melissa, team member

  4. I take magnesium, have tried several different forms. Can't say any of them helped with migraine.
