Side effect from Qulipta

Hi has anyone had constipation issues while on Qulipta. What has helped. I hate to become dependent on laxatives. Also what about dizziness? I take it at bedtime to try and sleep through the dizziness but mornings are tough

  1. Hi ,
Yes, I had constipation with Qulipta. I've used a regimen since my Aimovig experience. I know you said you prefer not to use laxatives so you could increase dietary fiber and water to start.
I rotate Benefiber and Miralax, using
a dose of one every other day. You might want to start with just the Benefiber and see how it goes. It melts easily into liquids and has no taste. I just use a teaspoon. If you need to up the game you could try rotating Miralax in. Neither contain stimulants and are non addictive. My long time usage has to do with other meds.
I didn't have dizziness but I noted anxiety. It did work for me for a while. Hope it does for you too. All "good" days are precious. Wishing you a pain free day.

    1. Hi, that sounds like a good plan. I believe I will give it a try. I am having spine surgery in a couple of weeks and I know that pain meds and inactivity will probably make the constipation worse so getting a decent process in place will be even more important. Have a great day

    2. I'm crossing my fingers that the surgery goes well and any constipation side effect of the pain meds will be minimal and easily managed. Please, if you're comfortable, keep us posted! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

  2. ,
Good luck with your surgery! The after surgery care plan might include instructions in that department from the doc too. Don't know why I'm being delicate after I shared my regimen with the world. Lol! Take good care!

    1. I'm coming to this late but I just wanted to pass along a constipation suggestion from one of our writers. It has been shared frequently here in the community.
