Found relief after 25 years of migraine attacks

I wanted to share this in the hope that it might help someone else.
I’ve suffered from migraines for around 25 years, I’m in my 40s now and in the last 2 years my migraines became increasingly severe, lasting 4-6 weeks. I struggled by using sumatriptan to ease the symptoms but it was having a lasting negative impact on my life.
My mum (having suffered herself until the age of 60), gave me a bag of dried feverfew, I was very sceptical that a dried plant would help in any way but I’d been drinking loose leaf mint tea anyway so thought there was no harm in trying. I started mixing the feverfew with dried peppermint and drinking it as a tea and within a couple of days my migraine was completely gone. Over time, I found that if I stop drinking it, I leave myself open to the most horrendous pain, often with vomiting but if I drink 2-3 cups a day (skipping one day here or there is usually ok) my migraine attacks have reduced significantly and when I do get them, they are far less severe and only last 1-5 days.
I’ve recently started researching other herbs like lavender, lemon balm and basil, now I know how much difference a herb can make, I’m really hopeful that I can eliminate my migraines for good one day.

  1. That is wonderful, , that you've found feverfew brings relief to your migraine attacks! One of our health leaders actually wrote about herbal tea in this article, https://migraine.com/living-migraine/herbal-tea, and you'll see that feverfew is mentioned there as well. Of course, what works for one person won't necessarily work the same for another, but it's always so helpful to hear how other people are managing. We appreciate you sharing with the rest of the community what has been helpful for you. Wishing you continued relief! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
